Mrs. Carroll was one of 186 participants selected from
thousands of applicants to travel to Japan. This journey was made possible by
the government of Japan with all expenses paid. Mrs. Carroll's award was based
on her proposal to complete activities that would promote the achievement of the
objectives listed below:
| Promote understanding between the people of Japan and
United States of America |
| Encourage students to appreciate the people, culture,
and educational system of Japan |
Mrs. Carroll accomplished these objectives through the
